About the Role The Fixed Income Discretionary Portfolio Management team is looking for a junior analyst / assistant portfolio manager based in Hong Kong to support the lead portfolio manager across various fixed income DPM strategies. The role offers hands-on exposure to portfolio construction, implementation, risk monitoring, portfolio analytics, and client reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical and detail-oriented professional to develop expertise in fixed income investing and portfolio management. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate demonstrates strong quantitative aptitude, intellectual curiosity, ownership, and a willingness to learn. They are highly proficient in Excel, comfortable working with complex datasets, and capable of maintaining accuracy in a control-sensitive environment. Fixed income experience is preferred but not essential. We welcome candidates from investment, trading support, risk, portfolio management, or related disciplines who are looking to build a long-term career in portfolio management. Key Responsibilities * Support Fixed Income Portfolio Manager in portfolio construction, portfolio reviews, rebalancing analysis, and implementation preparation. * Assist with trade implementation, execution follow-up, and coordination with execution, operations, control, and support teams. * Support monitoring of portfolio guidelines, mandate restrictions, concentration limits, credit exposure, maturity profile, and other fixed income risk parameters. * Prepare client reports, analytics and portfolio reports, including performance, holdings, asset allocation, etc. * Prepare and update fixed income DPM marketing materials, pitch books, portfolio review decks, and client-ready summaries. * Support system and process enhancement initiatives, including portfolio reporting and analytics tools, data quality checks, and workflow improvements. Skills & Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related discipline. * 1–3 years of relevant experience in portfolio management support, investment analysis, fixed income, asset management, wealth management, trading support, risk, product control, or investment operations preferred. * Good understanding of fixed income instruments, including bonds, credit, structured products, bond funds, and portfolio analytics. * Advanced Excel skills are essential. AI, VBA, Power Query, Python, or other automation skills would be an advantage. * Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to identify data inconsistencies, formula issues, and potential control risks. * Experience with Bloomberg, portfolio systems, or trade support platforms would be helpful. * Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Chinese language skills would be an advantage. * Ability to work under time pressure, manage recurring reporting cycles, and support urgent portfolio implementation needs with accuracy and discipline.
