The Clinical Research Coordinator assists in the daily activities of clinical research studies, obtains informed consent; collects, maintains and organizes study information. Assists in preparing grant applications and documents (for e.g., Institutional Review Board, Grants and Contracts Office).
The Clinical Research Coordinator I will assist in all daily activities of clinical research studies. The CRC I, under minimal supervision of the Project Manager, interacts with study participants, obtains informed consent; collects, maintains and organizes study samples and data. They will support the Project Manager in preparing grant applications and study documents (for e.g., Institutional Review Board, Grants and Contracts Office, study sponsors. This individual will be based at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and travel to clinic spaces for sample collections. In this role, the CRC I will gain exposure to a portfolio of related research studies in the inflammatory bowel disease and Parkinson’s disease spaces and more.
- Obtains informed consent under minimal supervision; provides information regarding the study to participants
- Collects and records study data; regularly speaking with study participants
- Assists in monitoring and interpreting clinical research data for integrity and to prepare reports for study projects, IRB/GCO, study sponsors, etc.
- Performs activities related to clinical research studies, including but not limited to, answering phone calls when on-call, screening patients for eligibility, sending collection kits, attending procedures for collections, processing samples, administering questionnaires
- Secures, delivers and ships clinical specimens under minimal supervision as required by the protocol
- Works closely with the Project Manager to support and develop lab projects with other lab members: Principal Investigator, Researchers, collaborating investigators, volunteers, students, etc.
- Other related duties
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Science or closely related field.
- No experience required. One year of research experience preferred.
