SPEECH PATHOLOGIST - FEE FOR SERVICE CONTRACT

Mozaic (A Chapter of The Arc NY) is looking for a Speech Pathologist to help people with disabilities improve or manage their speech and communication skills. The role involves doing assessments and providing therapy to people with developmental disabilities. The goal is to help them live in the least restrictive settings, such as their home or day programs, especially in places where these services are not easily available.

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST DUTIES

The Speech Pathologist provides individualized speech and language services to people in both one‑on‑one and group settings, tailoring interventions to meet each person's unique communication needs. Services may include language development support, interpretive assistance, and comprehensive speech and language therapy. Working collaboratively with families and caregivers, the Speech Pathologist helps implement treatment strategies that promote successful outcomes and support people in remaining in their homes or care placements.

This role also involves advocating for the rights and needs of the people we support, participating in treatment reviews as appropriate, and serving as a key communication liaison among people, families, day programs, residences, and external agencies to ensure coordinated and consistent care. Additionally, the Speech Pathologist provides training and guidance to agency staff on effective speech and language strategies, supporting the integration of communication‑focused techniques into daily routines to promote long‑term success.
