Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent international organization that provides medical care to the people who need it most. The organization cares for people affected by conflict, disease outbreaks, disasters, and social exclusion in more than 70 countries. MSF offers medical humanitarian assistance solely based on need, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or politics. The Interim Manager, Peer to Peer Fundraising (Leave Coverage) responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of Doctors Without Borders' community fundraising programs. The role oversees peer-to-peer campaigns, Facebook fundraising, supporter engagement, fundraising platforms, rapid response fundraising support, and related program operations to ensure the program meets its annual revenue targets.

Working closely with Community Fundraising, Integrated Channel Marketing, Development Operations, vendors, and internal stakeholders, the Manager helps ensure fundraising programs run smoothly, supporters receive timely assistance, campaigns are delivered on schedule, and program performance is tracked and reported.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is driven, collaborative, organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while supporting a variety of fundraising programs, projects, and stakeholders.

 

Department Accountabilities

Pursue strategic opportunities in coherence with MSF-USA´s strategy, that create long-term value for the movement by identifying and developing new audience segments or donors for its mission.

Build trust and loyalty with potential and existing donors. At the simplest level, update donors on activities. At a more complex level, build long-term relationships with key donors and key donor segments. Take overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering the donor engagement strategy. May be through channels or through personal relationships.

Secure reliable, sustainable, and efficient resources in alignment with MSF-US commitments.

Drive awareness and consideration through brand positioning based on the brand strategy and implement brand plans.

Deploy and champion the latest technological systems and capabilities that push the boundaries of what Development can produce for its donors.  

Roles Specific Outcomes

Lead a significant channel, product, or service within the larger marketing program, managing planning, delivery, or both.

 

Manages the development and execution of fundraising events, including ideation, planning, and business case development. Fosters relationships with diverse content creators and fundraisers to align their interests with organizational goals; manages post-event reports and analysis to measure success.

 

Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective project working relationships and to ensure that stakeholder needs and concerns are identified and met.

 

Manage a portfolio of projects while reporting to senior colleagues.


Manage the development and delivery of innovative, DEI-driven marketing communications and storytelling in a variety of media for a significant channel or area to increase engagement and revenue. 

 

Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports.

Desired Qualifications & Experience

At a minimum the Job Holder should possess: 

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in community fundraising, peer-to-peer fundraising, digital fundraising, nonprofit marketing, supporter engagement, or related fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with fundraising, community engagement, and supporter platforms such as DonorDrive, GoodUnited, Facebook Fundraising, Tiltify, Salesforce, or similar tools. 
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with CRM and marketing technology platforms, including Salesforce and related fundraising systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing fundraising campaigns, supporter engagement programs, community fundraising initiatives, or fundraising events from planning through execution and reporting.
  • Proven advanced project management skills, including producing project timelines, closeout analytics reports and narrative documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to time-sensitive fundraising opportunities, including emergency and rapid response fundraising efforts.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

 

Travel Requirements

Travel to promote MSF at in-person events, i.e., fundraising events, conferences, and conventions. Will spend at least 10-15% of time traveling.

 

Location

NYC (Hybrid- in office Tuesdays and Wednesdays) 

This role is based in New York, where most of the team and operational infrastructure are located. Due to current staffing and budget constraints, we’re unable to support this position in our California office. 

Compensation

$88,822 - $133,233 annually - In alignment with MSF USA’s compensation framework, new hires are generally offered between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
