Postdoctoral Scholar-Fixed Term

Michigan State University seeks a Venture Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the development and commercialization of robotic systems for specialty-crop harvesting. The position will focus on robotic system integration, perception, planning and control, field testing, and technology translation in collaboration with university researchers, growers, and industry partners.

Doctorate -Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related field

• Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, computer science, agricultural engineering, or a closely related field by the position start date.
• Experience in robotics, controls, perception, autonomous systems, or mechatronics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Hands-on experience with robotic system integration, ROS, C++/Python, computer vision, motion planning, or multi-arm manipulation.
• Experience with agricultural or field robotics and outdoor testing.
• Interest in technology commercialization and startup development.
