On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
This position offers an opportunity to work at the interface of computational science and biology, developing innovative approaches for extracting biological insights from large-scale imaging and multi-omics datasets.
The successful candidate will play a central role in designing, implementing, and maintaining computational workflows for AI-assisted image analysis, quantitative pathology, and research data analysis. Projects will include applying machine learning and computer vision approaches to microscopy and histopathology images, integrating imaging with transcriptomic and other molecular datasets, and developing reproducible analysis pipelines that enable new biological discoveries.
In addition to computational research, the Research Assistant will collaborate closely with graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty members to support experimental studies, curate and organize research data and metadata, and contribute to interpretation of biological results. The position provides opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary research spanning toxicology, liver biology, bioinformatics, spatial biology, and artificial intelligence.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and experience with Python and/or R for scientific computing. Familiarity with Linux/bash, Git version control, and Jupyter notebooks is expected. Experience with image analysis, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, cloud computing, containerization (e.g., Docker or Singularity), or high-performance computing is highly desirable but not required. Candidates should be enthusiastic about learning new computational methods and working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.

~1 min readThe candidate must be well organized and comfortable using the bash command line and Git version control system with experience in R and/or Python. Experience with cloud computing, containerization, and AWS would be beneficial. Strong communication skills are also essential as the candidate(s) will work closely with graduate students, postdoctoral research associates, and faculty to support research activities.
