This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.
This is an on-call position for a clinical trial using technology-based delivery of Motivational Interviewing (MI). The intervention is delivered electronically, with data gathered from participants, an independent research lab, and state public health agencies. Duties and responsibilities include support for online ads and surveys; online participant recruitment, enrollment, and retention; data collection and entry; maintenance of custom study intervention software(CIAS); and other duties as assigned. Knowledge of multiple software platforms (e.g., Ripple, Qualtrics, CIAS) and social media advertising is required. The on-call employee will work closely with the study PI and coordinator in all aspects of this study. This position may also involve small amounts of time helping with other studies or initiatives within the lab.
Requirements
~1 min readThe following qualifications are desired: Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a baccalaureate education or higher in a social sciences field related to the specific field of research employment or other related science fields; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in analytical and research techniques in an area related to the research being performed; familiarity with software specific to the area of research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Also desirable for this position are strong computer technology skills and excellent organizational, analytical, and written and oral communication skills. The Technical Aide must be able to work well independently, track important deadlines, and demonstrate excellent initiative. Attention to detail, familiarity with mobile and online technology, ability to troubleshoot and remotely assist research participants with navigating electronic surveys and apps, ability to manage multiple sources of data, and ability to flexibly meet project demands are important to the successful implementation of this project. Experience working with CIAS and on previous NIH-funded studies is preferred.
