The Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#145100) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The appointment start date is August 1, 2026.

The successful candidates are expected to teach undergraduate courses in music business, focusing on a survey of the recording industry, marketing, copyright, live entertainment, and related subjects. A master's degree in recording industry, music, business administration, or a closely related field, or a bachelor's degree in recording industry, music, business administration, or a closely related field with two (2) years of full-time recording industry professional work experience is required by the appointment date.

Applicants with the following will receive special consideration:

  • Experience teaching college-level courses.
  • Experience with curriculum development.
  • Evidence of strong industry relationships.
  • Proficiency with presentation technology and online/remote course delivery tools.
