The Department of University Studies at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) dual-enrollment faculty position (#712100) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The appointment start date is August 1, 2026.
The successful candidate will teach sections of dual enrollment mathematics courses at Sumner County area high schools, as needed, to meet a full-time teaching workload each year, which may include online sections. The incumbent must communicate regularly with the high school administration and department chair at MTSU to coordinate planned course activities with the high school calendar. To teach online, the lecturer must complete the required training course offered by MTSU Online.
A master's degree in mathematics or a closely related field, or a master's degree with at least 18 hours of graduate work in the mathematics discipline, is required by the appointment date.
Applicants with a terminal degree in mathematics or a closely related field, or with experience teaching in a high school setting, will receive special consideration.
