The Construction Recruiter at Mullins Mechanical and Welding (Mullins) manages the routine functions of the recruiting department for their assigned clients, including understanding and recruiting for manpower needs, maintaining communication with candidates in the pipeline, and performing pre-employment activities. The Construction Recruiter reports to the Talent Acquisition Manager. They are responsible for identifying and recruiting qualified talent to meet the manpower needs of the company.
The job of the Construction Recruiter is important to the success of Mullins. Employees are the most important asset, and the Construction Recruiter will be responsible for identifying and hiring these individuals. In an effort to promote a positive culture at Mullins, the Construction Recruiter will build and maintain relationships with candidates.
The Construction Recruiter is responsible for collaborating with executive and project level management to fully understand the hiring needs of the company. This includes joining weekly manpower calls to understand the hiring needs of each project for the upcoming weeks.
The Construction Recruiter will be responsible for the complete management of the ATS for their assigned clients. This includes organizing and maintaining accurate records for all open positions and candidates. They will be required to prepare weekly candidate reports to review with the management team to keep everyone updated on the status of open roles. Additionally, the Construction Recruiter will be responsible for the drafting and publishing of job postings.
The Construction Recruiter will be responsible for ensuring all pre-employment activities are completed prior to reporting to the job, including background checks and drug screens. As a part of compliance, the Construction Recruiter will coordinate with the Human Resources Manager to ensure that all hires meet the pre-employment requirements set by Mullins.
Construction Recruiter Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities
- Develop and update job descriptions and specifications
- Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to ATS, appropriate job boards, newspapers, etc.
- Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media, etc.
- Collect and screen candidate resumes and job applications
- Conduct interviews using various tools and questionnaires to filter candidates for open roles
- Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, experience, etc.
- Drive the recruiting process from application to the first day onsite, including but not limited to:
- Conducting phone screens & in-person interviews
- Coordinating interviews with hiring managers or SMEs and collecting feedback
- Preparing and presenting offers to candidates
- Conducting pre-employment activities such as background checks, coordinating drug screens, etc.
- Coordinate start date/time/location with HR/Site Management
- Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices
- Design and implement recruiting strategies
- Manage the recruitment process and update procedures when necessary
- Compile, review, analyze, and provide well documented recruiting reports and data to the rest of the team to support the continuous improvement of the department.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Recruiter in the construction industry, preferably 3-5 years
- Working knowledge of recruiting best practices
- Knowledge of applicant tracking systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive issues in a professional manner
