Parking Enforcement Official - District Services

Summary The Parking Enforcement Official, under the general supervision of the Manager, monitors designated parking route and issues citations; provides quality customer service in person and by phone.  This role also assists the front office staff during inclement weather and short staffed.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitors designated parking route, walks\drives approximately 12 miles per day Issues parking citations for vehicles violating Downtown Parking Ordinances outlined in Chapter 37 Records data such as time, date, and location of incidents Operates and maintains a parking enforcement vehicle, as assigned Assists office personnel as needed with clerical duties between parking enforcement routes, during inclement weather, or as assigned by a supervisor, clerical duties may include filing, assisting with phones, sorting mail, making copies, and other related activities Notifies businesses of parking concerns noticed during enforcement rounds Explains parking rules to the public and answers questions Installs and removes various locking devices to immobilize vehicles as required Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Performs other duties as assigned            Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent   Preferred Qualifications Parking enforcement experience   Certifications and Licenses Valid driver’s license
