Job Summary
The Manufacturing Operator operates encapsulation machinery to produce our high quality SoftGel capsules. The individual is required to be able to take instruction and to work independently or as part of a team to ensure both the quality and quantity of manufactured products, while taking into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven Core Values such as Sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to the area of responsibility.
Job Description & Duties
Maintain and operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Prepare capsules for drying
Troubleshoot encapsulation-related issues
Perform quality inspections and testing, including In-Process Checks (IPCs)
Perform startups, shutdowns, and line changeovers
Accurately complete all paperwork in a timely manner
Clean and sanitize equipment and maintain a clean work area
May be required to assist other production areas
Responsible to meet production deadlines
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this job
Report all quality issues to department leadership
Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Assist in the development of Work Procedures (WPs) and SOPs for the Encapsulation Department
Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
Other duties as assigned

Ability to learn and use company specific software, such as the Warehouse Management System
Previous production and GMP experience an asset
Attributes
Ability to communicate in the English language, both written and verbal
Ability to perform all job duties including standing for prolonged periods of time, bending, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching, squatting, kneeling, the ability to lift up to 12 kg, pushing and or pulling large tanks, and willing to work in a humidity-controlled environment around constantly running machinery
Availability for occasional overtime is an asset
Must be able to work independently within timelines and deadlines
Excellent attention to detail
