JOB SUMMARY

The Associate People Business Partner (PBP) partners with leaders, managers, and employees to support day-to-day human resources activities and foster a positive employee experience. This field role serves as a key People Team representative for assigned corporate and clinic locations, providing HR guidance, supporting employee relations and engagement efforts, and helping leaders effectively manage and develop their teams. Working closely with senior People team members, the Associate People Business Partner helps implement People strategies and programs that support organizational goals, workforce effectiveness, and operational success.

Locations include Houston or Dallas.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary People Team resource for assigned medical clinics and operational leaders, building trusted relationships with employees and management through regular field engagement.
  • Conduct routine visits to clinic locations to support employee relations, workforce planning, manager development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Partner with clinic leaders to identify people-related challenges and provide guidance on employee concerns, attendance issues, performance management, and workforce effectiveness.
  • Support onboarding, integration, and orientation activities for new clinic employees and leaders, helping foster a positive employee experience and successful transition into the organization.
  • Assist leaders in promoting a culture of engagement, accountability, inclusion, and employee well-being across clinic locations.
  • Serve as an accessible point of contact for frontline employees, helping address questions related to HR policies, benefits, leave administration, performance management, and workplace concerns.
  • Monitor employee engagement trends and workforce concerns within assigned clinics and provide recommendations to People leadership and operational leaders.
  • Support organizational change initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, clinic expansions, restructures, and workforce transitions, ensuring effective communication and employee support.
  • Partner with recruiting, People Operations, and clinic leadership to support staffing strategies, workforce planning efforts, and retention initiatives.
  • Assist with investigations and resolution of employee relations matters at clinic locations, ensuring timely follow-up and appropriate documentation.
  • Support compliance with company policies, employment laws, and regulatory requirements through regular communication, education, and partnership with clinic leaders.
  • Analyze workforce metrics including turnover, vacancies, employee relations trends, and engagement results to identify opportunities for improvement within assigned markets or clinics.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of Human Resources experience required, preferably in a field model.
  • Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, or talent initiatives preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-site healthcare, retail or hospitality environment is preferred.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or progress toward certification is preferred.

  • Ability to influence and coach managers on routine employee matters.

  • Ability to gather facts, analyze information, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information.

Organization & Execution

  • Effective project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute People programs and initiatives with accuracy and timeliness.

Collaboration & Adaptability

  • Strong team orientation and ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The majority of work responsibilities are performed in an on-site setting, including conducting detailed work sitting at a desk/table and working on the computer. Regular travel to assigned clinic or corporate locations is required to build partnerships with leaders and employees, support operational needs, and ensure consistent delivery of People programs and services.
