We're looking for a Freelance Business Controller to strengthen our Finance team during a 6-month assignment. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects, collaborate with key stakeholders across the business, and contribute to the financial performance of one of Belgium's leading e-commerce healthcare companies.
As a Business Controller, you will partner closely with the Controlling Manager and business stakeholders to deliver reliable financial information, support decision-making, and help drive business performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Contribute to the monthly closing process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Monitor the financial performance of the different business units.
Prepare management reports and translate financial data into actionable business insights.
Perform ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic and operational decisions.
Support the budgeting and forecasting cycles.
Consolidate business unit objectives and ensure alignment with the company's overall strategy.
Monitor budget performance and identify variances and improvement opportunities.
Evaluate investment proposals and provide financial recommendations.
Support managers in understanding financial performance and identifying improvement actions.
Ensure key business events and operational decisions are accurately reflected in financial reporting.
Provide meaningful analyses and recommendations to senior management.
Contribute to informed, data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Help optimize controlling processes, reporting tools and financial systems.
Contribute to improving reporting quality and efficiency.
Stay up to date with best practices and new developments in controlling and business finance.
Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
2 to 4 years of experience in Business Controlling, Financial Analysis or a similar finance role.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to transform data into clear business recommendations.
Advanced Excel skills; good command of PowerPoint.
Experience with Power BI is a strong asset.
Well organized, autonomous and detail-oriented.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
Curious, proactive and eager to challenge the status quo.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different stakeholders.
