Te Taurapa Tūhono | New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is the government agency charged with helping New Zealand businesses to grow internationally. By supporting New Zealand businesses, we boost New Zealand's economy and reputation, and help to share what's special about New Zealand with the rest of the world.

We need a smart, dynamic, experienced internal recruiter to join our team to support our global business. You’ll work collaboratively to identify, connect with and hire the very best local and international talent there is. We need people who love connecting with people and are inspired by adding value in everything they do. Due to our organisational structure and job types being different to the norm, we require an open-minded recruiter who can deeply listen and learn quickly so they support our people effectively.

Responsibilities

~2 min read

You’ll be partnered with a diverse portfolio of people from across our business and be their go-to person for their hiring needs.  But more than that, you’ll work proactively with your portfolio to stay ahead of their talent needs and to work on innovative and creative strategies to engage with future talent.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Partnering with leaders to deliver seamless end-to-end recruitment processes across a diverse portfolio of roles.
  • Using our CRM, LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing tools to proactively identify, engage and nurture future talent.
  • Building and maintaining talent pipelines both locally and internationally.
  • Screening and selection - providing insights and advice to leaders to support informed hiring decisions.
  • Guiding leaders through recruitment best practice, including screening approaches, interview design, assessment methods and selection decisions.
  • Managing candidate feedback, psychometric assessments, references and background checking.
  • Partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful recruitment outcomes across multiple international markets.
  • Supporting the recruitment of locally engaged employees in offshore locations, navigating varying employment, market and operational requirements.
  • Managing recruitment processes that involve multiple stakeholder groups, time zones, jurisdictions and governance requirements.
  • Championing a positive and inclusive candidate experience that reflects NZTE's values and employment brand.
  • Using data, insights and technology to continuously improve recruitment outcomes and ways of working. You will have a continuous improvement mindset and curiosity about how technology and AI can enhance recruitment processes.

We're looking for a highly experienced recruiter who thrives on building relationships, solving problems and delivering high-quality outcomes in complex environments.

Ideally, you will have worked in a high volume, collaborative, and progressive place where you’ve learnt how to push the boundaries of what is the norm.  You'll need to demonstrate solid decision-making ability and influencing leadership that includes consideration for the wider impact of those decisions.

Exceptional stakeholder and candidate relationship management is key, as is confidence managing complex hiring processes involving numerous stakeholders and competing priorities. You will also be known for your outstanding candidate care.

Experience recruiting across multiple regions, countries or employment jurisdictions would be highly valued.

You’ll have a deep understanding of the internal customer relationship and how a talent acquisition team partners and supports a business to grow and thrive. We work at pace here, so energy is important as well as the confidence to hit the ground running and deal with ambiguity. It's a fantastic and busy role - so a team mindset and a sense of humour will help!

Please note: if you are successful, you will be supporting a range of NZ and international stakeholders, so flexibility is required.

Why you’ll love working here

NZTE is a truly global organisation, giving you a wonderful experience of working with different cultures with over a hundred countries as part of our everyday. We know that life is not all about work and flexible working at NZTE is standard practice. We will give you the right technology to allow you to work anywhere and balance your time. On top of this, we also offer 5 weeks annual leave so you can have that extra time in the year to enjoy what you love doing!

Career development is another huge part of working at NZTE and we will help you with your aspirations and work with you to get you there. We are a learning environment that encourages adventure, experimentation and continuous improvement. What better place to grow your career!

If you have the legal right to work in New Zealand and this role sounds like you, please apply with your cover letter and resume. For further information, please review the Position Description here.

Applications close Friday 25th September at 12pm NZST.

Please note: We will be reviewing applications as they come in and may close this vacancy earlier than the advertised closing date

This is an NZ L16 role.

We believe Aotearoa is good for the world. New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is an equal opportunity employer. At NZTE it is all about our people and we seek diversity of thought; we welcome and encourage you to apply regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, neurodiversity or disability.

If we need to make specific accommodations in any part of the interview process, please note this in your application or discuss with the Talent Acquisition Partner.
