At Nextiva, we’re reimagining how businesses connect, bringing together customer experience and team collaboration on a single, conversation centric platform. Powered by AI, driven by human innovation.

Our culture is forward thinking, customer obsessed and built on the belief that meaningful connections drive better business outcomes. Whether it’s through our signature Amazing Service®, the technology we create, or the experiences we cultivate, connection is at the core of who we are.

If you’re ready to collaborate with incredible people, make an impact, and help businesses everywhere deliver truly amazing experiences, this is where you belong.

Location: This is an onsite role based at Nextiva’s Scottsdale headquarters (9451 E. Via de Ventura, Scottsdale, AZ 85256). Working together onsite strengthens how we operate, enabling faster decisions, clearer communication, and stronger execution, so you can make a greater impact and move work forward with speed and clarity.

In-Office Expectation: This role is expected to work onsite four days per week. Specific scheduling and flexibility will be guided by your leader to support both team collaboration and individual productivity.

Nextiva is looking for an Instructional Designer & Trainer to own the new hire experience. You'll build and teach the onboarding program that takes a brand new employee from day one to ready for the job, across Sales, Support, Professional Services, and other teams as we grow. This is a design-and-deliver role, so you'll write the curriculum and then stand up and teach it to every incoming cohort. This is an associate-level role, based in our Scottsdale office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead onboarding cohorts from kickoff through graduation, delivering instructor-led, virtual, and blended sessions on the product, our systems, and how the work actually gets done
  • Build and maintain the onboarding content new hires learn from, including guides, job aids, quick reference sheets, practice scenarios, and knowledge checks
  • Teach platform fundamentals so a new hire can explain what Nextiva does, navigate the product, and connect features to why a customer cares
  • Run role plays, hands-on exercises, and skills assessments, and certify that each new hire is ready before they take live customer work
  • Check in with recent graduates during their first weeks on the floor and deliver follow-up sessions where the gaps show up
  • Work with hiring managers to define what ready looks like for each role, report cohort progress, and flag learners who need extra support early
  • Keep onboarding current as the product, tools, and processes change, so no cohort learns something out of date
  • Track completion, assessment scores, certification results, and time to productivity for each cohort, and report what you find to the L&D team

The Platform (LMS)

  • Manage day-to-day LMS operations — system configuration, user support, permissions, course publication, learning assignments, and data accuracy across the full platform
  • Load, configure, test, publish, maintain, review, update, archive, and retire learning content, courses, curricula, certifications, videos, and AI-enabled learning features in accordance with organizational standards
  • Archive and retire outdated content as needed User Support & Training
  • Develop and maintain user guides, FAQS, and training materials

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Generate an analyze LMS reports on user engagement, course completion, and compliance
  • Ensure accurate training records for users and regulatory requirements
  • Identify trends and gaps in training through data analysis

Who You Are

  • You would rather be in front of a class than behind a slide deck, and you get satisfaction out of watching someone go from confused to confident
  • You remember what it felt like to know nothing about the job, and you can answer the same question three different ways without losing energy
  • You want to understand why a feature matters to a rep or a customer, not just what it does
  • You can run a cohort on a fixed calendar while building the next version of the curriculum in the background
  • You can take a dense technical explanation and rewrite it so someone in their first week understands it on the first pass
  • You take feedback on your content and your delivery, and you adjust quickly
  • You chase down the product detail you need instead of waiting for someone to send it to you

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 1-3 years in training delivery, onboarding, instructional design, enablement, sales, support, or another customer-facing role, ideally at a B2B SaaS or technology company
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience teaching or presenting to a group, both in person and over Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or a similar platform
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to distill technical information for an audience that is brand new to it
  • Solid organization and project management skills, with the ability to teach one cohort while preparing the next
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Genuine interest in learning our platform in technical depth
  • Based in the Scottsdale, Arizona area, or willing to relocate. This role works in office

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience running a new hire onboarding or bootcamp program
  • Experience with Docebo preferred
  • Experience with authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, or Camtasia
  • Familiarity with UCaaS, CCaaS, VoIP, or cloud communications concepts including IVR, call routing, reporting, and integrations
  • Background in B2B sales, sales engineering, or technical support
  • Coursework or certification in instructional design, adult learning, or ADDIE
  • Video editing, graphic design, or Adobe Creative Suite experience
  • Experience working in an LMS or similar learning platform, including building assessments and tracking completion
