The Small Engine Repair Associate is responsible for the overall operation and success of the small engine/ lawnmower repair department.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul small engines used in lawnmowers, chainsaws, and related equipment
- →Able to drive ¾ ton truck and 16’ trailer on a regular basis
- →Pick up and drop off of customers equipment in a neat and professional manner
- →Work within company programs, policies and procedures
- →Promote and support established programs
- →Communicate with and receive product from approved vendors
- →Operate a forklift
- →Follows safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model
- →Other duties assigned
- →During slow or off-season technician will be asked to work in one of our ACE Hardware retail locations. This would be temporary if at all and determined by work load
- →This position has no supervisory responsibilities
- Small engine and riding mower repair knowledge
- New mower setup/PDI and warranty repair knowledge
- Computer knowledge, with focus on online parts lookup and warranty submission
- Ability to communicate well with manufacturer technical support helplines
- Problem solving skills

- Detail oriented
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with limited supervision
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- One to three months related experience and/or training;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write warranty claims and service tickets.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.
- Basic math concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication.
- Valid Driver’s License

PAY RANGE (depends on industry experience)
$17 up to $24/hour (IL & MN Locations Only)
