Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Lead end-to-end research for priority digital initiatives, from framing the business and customer questions through study design, fieldwork, analysis, and executive-ready recommendations, so teams can make confident product and experience decisions.
  • Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews, usability testing, concept testing, diary studies, surveys, and in-context or event-based research, selecting methods that match the decision and timeline.
  • Partner with product, design, strategy, analytics, content, and marketing leaders to build focused research plans, clarify assumptions, and connect fan needs to business goals across NFL digital products and services.
  • Synthesize complex evidence into clear insights, opportunity areas, experience principles, and prioritized recommendations that influence roadmaps, go-to-market plans, and product iteration.
  • Support research with diverse fan audiences, including subscribers, prospective customers, casual fans, avid fans, and event attendees, ensuring findings reflect meaningful differences in needs, behaviors, and contexts.
  • Create durable research assets, including discussion guides, survey instruments, insight summaries, clips, journey maps, and repository entries, so teams can reuse learning and avoid duplicative research.
  • Coordinate with external research vendors and internal operations partners as needed, managing scope, quality, timing, participant recruitment, and deliverables within approved budgets.

Requirements

  • Experience partnering with product managers, designers, analysts, engineers, marketers, and senior stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to both working teams and executives.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in human-computer interaction, psychology, anthropology, sociology, design, market research, or a related field.
  • Experience researching subscription, streaming, sports, media, entertainment, gaming, or other consumer digital products.
  • Experience conducting research in live-event, field, or high-traffic consumer environments.

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and able to bring structure to complex questions.
  • Collaborative, low-ego partner who builds trust across functions and levels.
  • Strong judgment regarding research rigor, speed, and the level of evidence required for a decision.
  • Curious, organized, and proactive, with high attention to detail.
  • This role primarily involves computer-based work in an office or remote setting. Research activities may occasionally require standing or walking for extended periods at NFL events, navigating public venues, and carrying light research equipment or materials.
  • Travel may be required up to approximately 15%, including occasional travel to NFL events, research locations, or team and partner offices. Travel needs may be concentrated during peak periods.
