North Point Technology is looking to hire a UI/UX Engineer to join a mission-critical Intelligence Community program focused on delivering modern, high-impact user interfaces that enable mission users to interact with sophisticated systems and data more effectively. This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination. You will work at the intersection of user experience, interface engineering, and mission requirements, collaborating with software engineers, systems engineers, product owners, testers, and mission stakeholders to deliver responsive, accessible, and technically sound front-end solutions in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and engineering of modern, intuitive, and responsive user interfaces for mission-critical web applications. Translate user needs, mission workflows, and functional requirements into effective UI/UX solutions. Develop reusable UI components, patterns, and design standards to promote consistency and maintainability across the program. Build and refine interactive prototypes and proof-of-concept interfaces to validate concepts with stakeholders. Partner with software engineering teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately and with appropriate performance considerations. Evaluate existing interfaces and identify opportunities to improve usability, accessibility, and responsiveness. Collaborate with test engineers to validate UI functionality and user workflows. Participate in Agile ceremonies including PI Planning, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives. Contribute to the establishment of UI/UX engineering best practices, standards, and patterns. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to less-experienced engineers.

  • Development of modern web-based user interfaces and user experiences
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Python
  • Modern UI frameworks including React, Angular, Vue.js, or Django
  • Responsive design and component-based front-end development
  • Translating complex requirements and user workflows into intuitive interface solutions
  • Agile/Scrum or SAFe development methodology
  • CI/CD tools including GitLab CI and Jenkins
  • Agile collaboration tools including JIRA and Confluence
  • Cloud environments including AWS (C2S or GovCloud) and containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Secure coding practices and government system accreditation processes including RMF and STIGs

Nice to Have

  • Applications involving complex data visualization, geospatial information, intelligence workflows, or mission systems
  • React and TypeScript with modern front-end development tooling
  • Developing or consuming RESTful APIs and integrating UI applications with backend services
  • Design systems and reusable component libraries
  • UX/UI design tools including Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
  • Accessibility standards including Section 508 and WCAG
  • Dashboards, data visualization, maps, or highly interactive mission interfaces
  • Automated UI testing tools including Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
  • Technical mentorship and leadership within a multidisciplinary Agile team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination
  • US citizenship required per contract
