Position Summary:
As Crew Leader, you will supervise a crew of Corpsmembers with varying skills and abilities at historic preservation project sites.  You will oversee projects in cemetery restoration, masonry, window restoration, log building restoration, painting/scraping, roofing, and general carpentry. You do not have to be an expert at these hands-on skills. The main responsibility for Crew Leaders is to ensure effective communication between the Project Host, Technical Instructors, Northern Bedrock Staff, and your crew while adhering to and enforcing our standards of safety both at project sites and at spike camp. You will work alongside your crew to set the pace and solve problems as they arise. You will foster positive crew morale through consistent teamwork, encouragement, and clear communication.

Service Logistics:
You will serve on a 9-day-on, 5-day-off schedule, serving 9-hour days from 8:00 am -5:30 pm. You must be able to commit to the hitch schedule for the duration of your term of service (with 3 days of built-in time off). While on hitch, you will camp at or near the site, prepare meals as a crew, transport our trailers, and complete the hands-on historic preservation project. Crews are typically 4-6 Corpsmembers, all 18+, with one dedicated Crew Leader. All AmeriCorps members are required to take a daily 30-minute lunch break that does not contribute to service hours.
