Applications Architect

We are on the lookout for an Applications Architect to join our team, supporting government initiatives in the Herndon, VA area. This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating modern, efficient, and secure software architectures. What You'll Do: Design and implement modular, event-driven microservices architectures. Deploy and operate applications within an Amazon AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS/PostgreSQL, NLB) using Ansible. Develop web backend services with Python and data processing services with Go, including web applications using Go Templates and a PostgreSQL database. Create web applications with ReactJS for an engaging front-end UI/UX experience. Ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 security controls and the software accreditation process on secure networks. Secure systems deployed on AWS, including host security, networking, load balancing, and PKI. Requirements Proven experience in application solution creation using container or cloud-based technologies, including AWS and Azure. Expertise in DevOps tools and methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation. Ability to identify capabilities and knowledge gaps, proposing solutions through research and emerging technology applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working independently and within teams. Knowledge of Linux, networking, and cloud services. Experience in cloud architecture and design for solutions in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
