Senior Manager Collections & Recoveries (Hold an EU Passport)
Overview:
Role Purpose:
As Collections Strategy Senior Manager, you will be accountable for designing, implementing and optimising the end-to-end collections strategies across the credit card portfolio. The role focuses on improving customer outcomes, maximising recoveries and minimising credit losses while ensuring full compliance with EU regulation. You will lead projects expanding product and tool functionalities, experimenting with strategies and treatments to drive results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve collections strategies across early/pre, mid and late delinquency for unsecured credit card portfolio.
- Define segmentation, treatment paths and contact strategies using behavioural, risk and affordability data.
- Optimise cure rates, roll rates, loss rates and customer experience through data-driven decisioning.
- Lead strategy development for forbearance, hardship and vulnerability in-line with EU regulatory requirement.
- Design champion/ challenger tests, strategy experiments (with Analytics) and performance dashboards (with BI team).
- Track performance of strategies, operational teams and systems/ tools. Provide senior-level insights and recommendations.
- Manage and prioritize the collections strategy roadmap, balancing commercial outcomes with customer fairness.
Key Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in collections strategy, credit risk or recoveries, within credit cards or unsecured (retail) lending. German market a strong plus.
- Proven experience with strategy design, testing and optimisation underpinned by data analytics.
- Ability to translate complex analysis into clear strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of collections economics, customer behaviour and regulatory constraints of an unsecured retail banking product.
- Experience working with decisioning systems, scorecards and treatment allocation tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across multiple different levels.
- Written and verbal fluency in English required and in German a strong positive.
- Living in Malta or being able to relocate / travel regularly.
