We are currently seeking a Lead Storage & Data Protection Support Engineer to join our team in Hyderabad, Telangana (IN-TG), India (IN).
Job Description – Lead Storage & Data Protection Support Engineer (L2/L3)
Experience: 8–12 Years (Lead Level Preferred)
Location: India / Global Delivery Centers
Shift: 24x7 Support (On-call & Rotational)

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Storage & Data Protection Support Engineer to lead first-level support operations for enterprise storage, backup, and SAN environments. The role involves managing 24x7 support operations, mentoring team members, and ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of storage and backup systems.

Key Responsibilities
1\. Leadership & Operations
• Act as Lead for First-Level Support Team (L2/L3 escalation point).
• Create, publish, and manage 24x7 staff coverage schedules.
• Ensure adherence to SLAs, incident response timelines, and operational excellence.
• Mentor team members and drive process improvements.

2\. Backup & Data Protection
• Manage and troubleshoot backup environments:
o File-level restore, VM restore, BMR (Bare Metal Recovery)
o Backup failure analysis and resolution
• Configure and support:
o NetBackup (FL, NBMR)
o Acronis backup solutions
• Perform backup validation, DR testing, and recovery operations

3\. Storage & SAN Management
• Configure and support enterprise storage systems:
o Dell EMC XtremIO (XIO), PowerMax, PowerStore, Unity
o VPLEX (Local & Metro)
o Pure Storage, IBM Storage
• Perform:
o LUN provisioning, allocation, and performance tuning
o Storage capacity planning and monitoring

4\. SAN Switch Administration
• Manage and configure Brocade SAN switches (SANnav):
o Zoning, fabric management, ISL configuration
o Troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues

5\. NAS & Replication
• Configure and manage NAS storage:
o Unity, Isilon (SMB/NFS protocols)
• Set up and monitor:
o Replication and failover mechanisms

6\. OS & Virtualization Support
• Configure storage at OS level:
o Windows, Linux, VMware ESXi
• VMware support:
o Datastore provisioning & expansion
o Storage vMotion
o VM storage troubleshooting

7\. Monitoring & Incident Management
• Monitor and optimize performance across:
o Storage arrays: XIO, PowerMax, PowerStore, Unity, VPLEX
o SAN: Brocade ports
o NAS: Isilon
o OS: Linux/Windows (Grafana or similar tools)
• Respond to Data Domain alerts:
o Connectivity issues, temperature alerts, hardware failures
• Perform:
o Log collection and analysis
o Hardware replacement coordination

8\. Vendor Management
• Create and manage support tickets with Dell EMC, Pure Storage, IBM
• Coordinate for issue resolution, replacements, and escalations

Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory Skills
• 8–12 years of experience in Storage, SAN, and Backup Support
• Strong hands-on experience with:
o Dell EMC Storage (XIO, PowerMax, Unity, PowerStore)
o VPLEX (Local & Metro)
o Brocade SAN switches (SANnav)
• Backup technologies:
o NetBackup (NBMR, FL restore)
o Acronis
• Strong OS knowledge:
o Linux & Windows storage administration
• VMware:
o Datastore provisioning, migration, and storage integration
• Monitoring tools (Grafana or similar)

• Experience with:
o Data Domain
o Pure Storage, IBM storage systems
• Knowledge of scripting/automation (Shell/Python)
• ITIL-based incident and change management experience
