Requirements

Experience with hand and power tools, ex, drills, saws, hammer drill, table saw, and miter saw.
Flexibility and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of shop cabinetry and museum wall construction is preferred.
Knowledge of museum display methods
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with limited project timelines.
Good communication skills, communicating with fellow team members
Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
Ability to be proactive, use independent judgment and initiative.

High School Diploma or equivalent required

REPORTS TO: Head of Exhibition Construction

LOCATION: 1071 Fifth Avenue New York, NY 10128, Midtown West Warehouse or Brooklyn Warehouse

WORK SCHEDULE: On call, Schedule TBD

POSITION TYPE: On-Call, Non-Exempt Position covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with Local 30

SALARY RANGE: $35.12 - $42.14 per hour

Responsibilities

→Occasionally, work may be conducted outdoors, with exposure to varied weather conditions.
→Ability to work with a team of people throughout the museum, including facilities staff, conservators, registrars, art handlers, curators and exhibition designers.
→Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, etc.
→Ability to lift at least 60 lbs. (equivalent to one 5-gallon bucket of joint compound)
→Ability to collaborate with diverse implementation teams is essential.
→Ability to travel within the metropolitan area as required to perform the above duties at any of Guggenheim’s owned or leased properties upon request.
