Assistant Vice President, Site Activations and Special Projects

Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Develop and implement asset activation strategies that promote Sunset Park portfolio assets, enhance community and cultural programming, and generate revenue.
- →Identify opportunities and cultivate partnerships with tenants, event producers, cultural organizations, community partners, and other users to activate portfolio assets year-round.
- →Oversee all aspects of the operational execution of site activations, including location selection, permitting coordination, applicable contracting and licensing, scheduling, and managing event calendars; ensure marketing and promotional materials are developed and maintained.
- →Serve as a key partner and liaison to NYCEDC Portfolio Management teams, Marketing, Public Affairs, Property Operations, and other internal teams and external partners to facilitate the activation and overall promotion of portfolio assets.
- →Serve as the primary point of contact for Sunset Park marketing and public relations initiatives, leading project planning, coordination, contract management, and execution in partnership with internal NYCEDC teams and external vendors and consultants.
- →Implement portfolio pricing structures, discounted space and in-kind protocols, standard operating procedures, and process enhancements across portfolio assets.
- →Serve as a clearinghouse and oversee TV and film requests, oversee onsite filming activities, and field other space inquiries and requests for the Sunset Park portfolio and other AM assets, ensuring coordination and overall alignment with operational, community, and financial goals.
- →Research, benchmark, and report on key market and event industry trends and actively prospect event partners and community programming partners for portfolio activations.
- →Manage financial performance for site activations, including tracking P&L and other key metrics.
- →Participate in the annual budgeting process and continuously monitor, track, and report on revenue, expenses, and other metrics.
- →Manage and implement special projects for the Sunset Park portfolio as needed.
- →Schedule flexibility including nights and weekends will be required as needed.
- →Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
~3 min read- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in special events and/or public programming execution, marketing or public/external affairs (preferably with client management experience or related field).
- Experience managing vendors and procurement contracts.
- Experience in business development for event venues.
- Effective written and verbal communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines with attention to detail and organization.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive projects forward with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively with teams, including cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Strong customer service orientation when working with partners, tenants, and community stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- New York City residence is required within 180 days of hire.
