Responsibilities
~1 min readThe Production Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of daily plant operations. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who understands the interdependencies across departments and is committed to building processes that are proactive, not reactive. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in lean manufacturing, a team-first approach, and the operational discipline to plan multiple weeks ahead.
- →Direct and develop shift personnel through strategic labor deployment and ongoing performance accountability
- →Build and maintain proactive production schedules, including inventory and hardware planning tied to custom order fulfillment
- →Drive plant performance across core KPIs: safety, quality, responsiveness, cost, and people development
- →Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment and continuity across all departments
- →Maintain a culture of safety through proper equipment use, consistent training, and adherence to all incident reporting procedures
- →Apply TPS/lean methodologies, including 5S, root cause analysis, and resource planning, to address operational challenges at their source
- →Support long-term growth initiatives, including thermal composite door expansion and the integration of new fabrication processes
- 5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment; background in metals, aluminum, doors, or related industries preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage proactive production schedules (minimum two weeks out)
- Experience with hardware and inventory management in a custom or made-to-order production setting
- Working knowledge of TPS/lean concepts: 5S, root cause analysis, resource allocation, and production planning
- Proactive planner. Builds schedules designed to absorb disruption rather than respond to it.
- Cross-functional awareness. Understands the downstream impact of upstream decisions and communicates accordingly.
- Collaborative approach. Measures success by what the team achieves, not individual output alone.
- Growth orientation. Looks beyond current processes to contribute to the long-term development of the department.
- Benefits that benefit you – industry competitive benefits at the lowest cost to the employee
- Work-life balance – PTO and holidays, including floating holidays you can choose
- Compensation that rewards your hard work – A pay-for-performance culture with potential for annual raises and bonuses
- Training – We will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed
OBE will not discharge or discriminate against employees or applicants for discussing, disclosing, or inquiring about their own or others' pay.
