ROLE: People Partner (12 Months Maternity Leave Cover)

LOCATION: London

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE ROLE AND TEAM:

We are seeking an ambitious, hard-working individual to join our People Team to take it to the next level.  You will continually challenge the status quo to ensure that we are the best People team in the business!

In addition to ensuring compliance of all the usual HR protocols, you will also provide a comprehensive, proactive and efficient HR service by providing information, guidance and coaching to employees and managers across all employment related matters, in support of the HR and business strategy, working across all brands within the Inside Ideas Group.  Working alongside the Senior People Partners, you will also support the roll out of key People initiatives to help deliver the OLIVER HR People strategy.

This role will be supporting our onsite, office based and remote/hybrid teams, varied, fast paced and requires someone who can think on their feet, be proactive, be agile and hungry to learn and succeed.

WHAT YOU WILL YOU BE DOING:

  • HR Generalist Support:
  • Serve as the dedicated regional People Partner for employees and managers across Inside Ideas Group in the UK — providing guidance, coaching, and practical HR support on all employment-related matters
  • Maintain current, accurate knowledge of UK employment law and ensure all advice reflects up-to-date legislation and best practice
  • Provide reports on HR metrics to the business, with clear and actionable insight
  • Employee Relations:
  • Own and manage complex employee relations cases end-to-end — including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, sickness and absence, and capability processes
  • Coach and support managers in handling staffing issues confidently and fairly, escalating to the Senior People Partner where appropriate
  • Ensure all ER activity is handled with rigour, consistency, and in full compliance with current legislation
  • Change Management:
  • Own and deliver end-to-end change management programmes — including redundancies, restructuring, and TUPE — managing process, communication, and stakeholder engagement throughout
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to identify and support redeployment opportunities within change programmes
  • People Initiatives and Projects:
  • Support the Senior People Partners in rolling out key People initiatives as part of the OLIVER HR People strategy
  • Monitor employee feedback and work closely with stakeholders to drive engagement, development, and support across the business
  • Support the salary review process — contributing evidence-based input and challenging decisions where appropriate
  • Payroll and Process:
  • Represent People Partnering in monthly payroll meetings, providing guidance on process improvements that reduce errors and improve accuracy
  • Line Management:
  • Line manage HR Administrators — providing training, developmental support, and clear day-to-day direction to support their growth and performance
  • Team and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Lead and facilitate team meetings that foster engagement and active contribution
  • Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of employees, business objectives, and operational processes across IIG
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Proactively identify gaps in process and procedure and propose and implement practical improvements that enhance the employee experience
  • Apply a reflective and improvement-focused approach to all HR activity — consistently looking for ways to do things better

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE:

  • Proven experience as an HR generalist — with a track record of providing a comprehensive, commercially grounded HR service across the full employment lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of concurrent tasks and cases with strong attention to detail and consistent accuracy under pressure
  • Sound, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and experience applying it across a range of employment situations
  • Strong, demonstrable experience managing complex ER cases end-to-end — including disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies, TUPE, and capability processes
  • Confident in coaching and advising managers at all levels on sensitive and complex people matters, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and push back constructively where needed
  • Experience owning and delivering change management programmes — including redundancy and restructuring processes — with clear accountability for process integrity and stakeholder communication throughout
  • Proven ability to build trusted, effective relationships with employees and managers across a complex, multi-brand or multi-site organisation
  • Comfortable working across varied stakeholder groups — from senior leaders to individual contributors — adapting communication style accordingly
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, prioritise effectively in a fast-moving environment, and maintain quality and compliance throughout
  • Structured and detail-oriented approach to documentation, reporting, and process management
  • Experience managing or developing junior HR team members — providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and practical support for their development
  • Proficiency with Gen AI tools relevant to HR and People operations — including tools that support drafting, policy research, reporting, stakeholder communications, and process documentation
  • Experience building personal AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency and reduce administrative workload
  • Agentic approach to HR challenges: able to break down complex people situations into clear components, identify the most appropriate course of action, and follow through consistently
  • Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and apply sound HR and legal judgement before sharing or acting on them
  • Nice to Have
    • CIPD qualification or equivalent professional development in HR
    • Experience in a creative, media, or agency environment
    • Familiarity with multi-brand or group-level HR structures
    • Experience with HR systems and payroll coordination processes
