Job Description

Olsson offers clients a full spectrum of water and wastewater services, including a complete line of planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services. Maintaining water quality is Olsson’s number one concern, and we are able to respond to a broad set of client demands in a timely and cost-effective manner. 

The Colorado Water/Wastewater Leader will be responsible for the overall performance, leadership, and management of the water/wastewater staff they supervise. This includes collaborating with the market, sector, discipline, and geography leads on short and long-term strategic planning, annual business planning, on-going business development and client development, team member recruiting and retention, team member professional development, consistently meeting company high-performance expectations for utilization and financial performance, and overall project production/quality. The Water/Wastewater Leader may also manage multiple projects and/or assist the project team with project management duties and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily management and leadership for the Colorado Water/Wastewater group while remaining actively engaged in project execution and client delivery.
  • Manages staff and group dynamics; sets priorities for current and ongoing projects; and establishes goals aligned with the group’s and team’s objectives.
  • Maintains responsibility for assigned projects, including scope, schedule, budget, quality control, and client communication.
  • Monitors and manages project performance, employee utilization, and workload; identifies improvement opportunities; and implements plans to maximize efficiency and successful delivery.
  • Oversees project management, quality control, and technical execution within the group, maintaining a utilization goal that supports both leadership responsibilities and continued project involvement.
  • Encourages professional development by helping employees identify goals, outlining expectations, recognizing accomplishments, and providing consistent feedback.
  • Communicates regularly with group members to ensure alignment on initiatives, goals, project priorities, and accountability.
  • Ensures a high level of client service through direct and ongoing engagement with existing clients, responsiveness, and relationship management.
  • Outlines training and mentoring expectations to strengthen technical capabilities and leadership depth within the group.
  • Collaborates with other group leaders to align staffing, project delivery, and strategic objectives across the team.
  • Actively participates in business development efforts, including maintaining repeat-client relationships and supporting new client pursuits in coordination with business development leadership. This includes contributing to client strategy, proposals, interviews, and selection efforts.
  • Adheres to regulations and enforces safety standards.

We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being based out of our Denver, CO or Loveland, CO office locations. Candidate would be expected to be in our Denver office 2-3 days/week. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the consulting industry. 
  • At least 4 years of experience supervising others. 
  • Established background in the water/wastewater industry.
  • Daily management and leadership.

Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, education, and internal equity.

Colorado Pay Range
$133,000$198,000 USD
