About the Role:
This is a permanent role based in our Sydney office. As a Financial Accountant in our corporate finance team reporting to the Finance Manager, you will deliver accurate and timely financial accounting and reporting while supporting statutory reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
The role requires you to undertake a broad range of duties, including:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations, and reporting packs to support timely and accurate month-end close.
- Assist with group consolidations and intercompany accounting.
- Support statutory reporting and external audits.
- Prepare monthly variance analysis and support management reporting review process.
- Support finance systems enhancements, testing, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support AP where required and provide backup across finance roles.
- Support ad-hoc projects
Collaboration
- Build effective working relationships with team mates and stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly and proactively to support shared outcomes.
- Contribute constructively to cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Transformation & Efficiency
- Proactively identify process and system improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation.
- Adopt new tools and ways of working quickly and effectively.
- Support team and wider business transformation and efficiency initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
We're looking for an individual with strong technical skills who is able to effectively communicate with various stakeholders and contribute positively to team culture. You will ideally come with the following skills, attributes and experience:
- 3 - 5 years accounting experience.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Undergraduate qualification in accounting, commerce or finance.
- CPA / CA qualified.
- Workday experience is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a high performing team.
- Ability to meet deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and quality of work.
- Flexibility to work across different time zones or hours if required during peak periods.
