About the Role

We're looking for a hybrid profile that doesn't fit neatly into one box. Half your time you'll be managing client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and making sure our Shopify practice runs well. The other half, you'll be doing hands-on UX/UI design and CRO work, directly improving the stores we manage.

You'll work closely with our Shopify development team, our marketing team, and directly with clients. This role exists because we believe the best client outcomes happen when the person managing the relationship also understands and can execute the craft.

  • Day-to-day client relationships across our retainer accounts and project engagements, ensuring requests are resolved, communication is proactive, and clients consistently receive exceptional service.
  • Establish a structured rhythm for each client through regular check-ins, roadmap reviews, performance discussions, and ongoing recommendations to improve their Shopify stores.
  • Hands-on UX/UI design work, including landing pages, product pages, checkout experiences, campaign assets, and full store redesigns when needed.
  • CRO analysis and execution, identifying friction points, proposing and running tests, and translating customer behavior and performance data into actionable design improvements.
  • Coordinate with SEO, paid media, lifecycle marketing, and other specialists to ensure initiatives are aligned and executed successfully.
  • Delivery oversight for the development team, ensuring projects are properly scoped, developers have the right context, and priorities remain aligned with client goals.
  • Identify growth opportunities, strategic recommendations, and ways to increase value for each client while continuously strengthening long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams on content creation, case studies, proposals, and pitch materials that help generate new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Shopify practice by helping define service offerings, target markets, operational improvements, and the unique value Oowlish brings to the eCommerce space.
  • 4+ years of experience in eCommerce, with a strong UX/UI design background applied to Shopify or similar platforms.
  • Proven experience managing client relationships in agency, consulting, or service-based environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), including testing, analysis, and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing eCommerce UX/UI work, ideally focused on Shopify stores.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and take ownership of outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with Shopify or Shopify Plus.
  • Experience owning both client communication and execution outcomes, rather than operating exclusively as a designer or account manager.
  • Strong UX/UI design experience focused on eCommerce.
  • Experience managing client relationships, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Experience conducting CRO initiatives, including A/B testing, funnel analysis, and conversion optimization.
  • Ability to translate customer behavior and business data into design recommendations.
  • Experience collaborating with developers, marketers, SEO specialists, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities and translate them into recommendations or proposals.
  • Hands-on Shopify development experience (Liquid, custom themes, app integrations).
  • Experience with CRO tools such as:
    • Hotjar
    • VWO
    • Microsoft Clarity
    • Similar platforms
    • Experience with SEO for eCommerce.
    • Experience with Klaviyo or similar email marketing/CRM platforms.
    • Experience working with DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) brands.
    • Previous experience in a Shopify-focused agency.
    • Experience supporting business development efforts, proposals, case studies, or sales presentations.
  • You’ll have real ownership over both the client relationship and the work.
