We are looking for a motivated C++ Software Engineering Intern to join the team building the OESIS Framework, one of OPSWAT's flagship cybersecurity products. This is a hands-on internship: you'll spend most of your time writing real C++ code that ships as part of the product, working alongside experienced engineers who will guide your onboarding, review your work, and help you grow.
This is a great opportunity for a student or recent graduate who wants real-world experience with a large, production C++ codebase, exposure to the cybersecurity/endpoint-security domain, and hands-on practice with modern AI-assisted development workflows under close mentorship.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Write, test, and debug C++ code for the OESIS Framework under the guidance of an assigned mentor
- Take on well-scoped features or bug fixes, working through requirements clarification, implementation, and unit/functional testing with support from senior engineers
- Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) as part of your daily workflow for code generation, refactoring, test creation, and debugging while learning to review and validate what they produce
- Learn the basics of the endpoint security domain: anti-malware detection, patch/vulnerability assessment, device compliance through real project work
- Collaborate with your team's engineers, QA, and Product Management in SDLC
Requirements
~1 min read- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- Basic understanding of object-oriented programming and data structures/algorithms
- Curiosity about or prior exposure to AI coding assistants (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude)
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn a large, real-world codebase
- Good communication skills in English, spoken and written
- Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable asking questions in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Foundation in C++ fundamentals (syntax, memory management, OOP basics)
- Exposure to scripting languages such as Python, Squirrel, or Lua
- Experience with Windows, macOS, or Linux development, or familiarity with OS-level concepts (processes, services, permissions)
- Interest in cybersecurity, endpoint protection, or device compliance
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Familiarity with LLM concepts (prompting, tool/function calling) or interest in AI-assisted engineering
