Join our team as a Communications Coordinator and help us deliver engaging messaging that connects our people, strengthens our brand, and amplifies Osborn Consulting as a uniquely great place to work in the AEC industry.

This role works closely with the Internal Communications Manager and the larger Marketing Department, consisting of four other individuals who support sales and business development. As a small team, we rely on each person to bring ideas forward, identify opportunities, and help improve how we communicate across the organization.

We’re a growing, employee-owned company, and there is ample opportunity to champion new ideas and make your own impact.

Why This Role Matters

The Communications Coordinator ensures our communications are clear, consistent, and reflective of our people. This role connects internal and external efforts, helping maintain alignment in how we communicate and represent Osborn. They partner with teams to identify gaps, flag when messaging isn’t landing as intended, and improve how we approach communication across the company and the industry. The role also supports alignment with the 2030 Strategic Plan by reinforcing priorities and communicating progress. Strong relationships and trust across teams are critical to success in this role.

About the Role

Internal and external communication duties include, but are not limited to:

  • People and Brand: Collaborate with Marketing and People Operations/HR to develop communications that enhance the employee experience, including messaging for events, trainings, onboarding, recognition efforts, and other initiatives.
  • Visual Content & Design: Create and support the development of visual communications, including slide presentations, video content, graphics, and data visualization elements that enhance clarity and engagement across channels.
  • All-Staff Meetings: Coordinate, develop, and promote weekly 15-minute all-staff meetings; support the production of larger monthly all-staff meetings used to share company updates and messaging.
  • Social Media Strategy: Contribute to the development and execution of the company’s social media strategy by identifying content opportunities, coordinating with technical and non-technical staff, scheduling and creating content, and partnering with Marketing on content distribution.
  • Change Management Support: Develop communications plans and materials for organizational changes, such as office openings, departmental shifts, and similar transitions.
  • Public Relations: Prepare press releases, newsletters, blog articles, and other external communications to highlight firm news, promotions, project work, and employee spotlights.
  • Marketing Campaigns: Partner with the Marketing team to support campaign planning, timelines, and progress tracking for initiatives such as anniversaries, leadership updates, and client engagement efforts.

About You

You demonstrate initiative by recognizing what needs attention and proactively taking the steps necessary to accomplish your tasks. You are proficient in self-organization and coordination with a wider team. You enjoy being a visible promoter of company culture and positive team experiences, both in-office and virtually. You are bold in sharing ideas and asking questions, balanced by a knack for diplomacy, a willingness to learn, and knowing when compromise is the best path forward.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, ideally in English, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in corporate communications, visual design, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva to create visual materials.
  • Experience producing video content, including storyboarding, interviewing, and editing.
  • Strong writing, communication, and proofreading skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong judgment and ability to ensure communications align with Osborn’s voice, culture, and quality standards.
