OTI Lumionics is developing advanced materials—by design—using quantum simulations, machine learning and real-world testing in pilot production. We are currently focused on key enabling materials for OLED displays that will be used in next-generation consumer electronics and automotive. Our advanced electrode materials, and associated manufacturing technology, are being used to build transparent displays and lighting. We work closely with our partners and customers to design new materials that are mass-production ready. Using our computational Materials Discovery Platform, we are able to rapidly iterate new materials, allowing fast turn around time to meet our customers’ needs.

OTI Lumionics is seeking for a Senior Analytical Chemist to join us. The Senior Analytical Chemist will carry out QA/QC activities using various analytical techniques, in accordance with SOPs, and heath & safety standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and validating analytical methods for the analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products using techniques such as NMR, GC, MS, HPLC, UV, IR, TGA and DSC
- Troubleshooting various analytical instrumentations and resolving method or equipment related issues
- Performing and documenting all analytical testing, deviations, and findings in compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements
- Reporting all analytical results and deviations encountered during analysis and recommending appropriate improvements to procedures
- Presenting analytical data in a clear, organized and accurate manner (both verbal and written)
- Mentoring and supervising junior analytical chemists and providing technical guidance as required
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment and ensuring all work complies with health and safety standards, and SOPs
- Ensuring compliance with environmental policies, procedures, and objectives, and actively participate in the identification and reduction of environmental impacts related to the role
- Adhering to health and safety protocols, reporting hazards, and contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
- Performing other ad hoc duties as assigned
- MSc or PhD in Chemistry or related science
- Solid understanding of fundamental analytical chemistry techniques such as chromatography and spectroscopic technologies
- Knowledge of organic chemistry is considered an asset
- Strong ability to perform independent research and interpret chemical literature
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage technical deliverables
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant data processing programs
- Knowledge and understanding of GMP/GLP is considered an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and data quality
- Ability to learn quickly, demonstrate flexibility, take initiative, and maintain a positive, can-do attitude
- Willingness to work extended hours as required
- Ability to work all shifts, including morning and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays
