We are looking for a highly experienced Electronics Engineer to work on the design and development of Oura’s electronic systems. In this role we provide an opportunity to take the technical leadership in the electronics design of Oura products. Candidates can work either in a Lead position with team lead and project management duties in our product programs, or as an individual contributor as a staff engineer having responsibility of the technical work for design capture, implementation and verification. Furthermore, we optionally provide an option to contribute to our new technology development.
This is a key technical leadership role, responsible for setting the direction of electronics design, ensuring design excellence and leading a high-performing engineering project team. You will work on cutting-edge technologies and drive innovation from concept to production in our product programs.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Design Leadership: Lead detailed design efforts for analog, digital, mixed-signal, power management, sensing and RF systems
- →Ensuring product performance, reliability and manufacturability.
- →Project Oversight: Manage and schedule electronics design activities across all project phases — from concept, schematic design, PCB layout, prototyping, validation to production support.
- →Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, firmware, optical, quality and manufacturing teams to deliver fully integrated products.
- →Mentorship and Team Development: Mentor junior designers and develop a strong internal electronics project design team.
- →Electronics System Architecture: Contribute on system-level electronic architecture, component selections, and design strategies.
- →Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all electronic designs meet regulatory standards (EMC, EMI, safety certifications like FCC, CE, UL).
- →Supplier and Partner Management: Work with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and technology providers to deliver optimized designs and components.
- →Innovation & Roadmapping: Contribute to strategic planning and technical roadmaps, bringing new technologies into future products.
Requirements
~1 min read- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in electronics design, with 3–5 years in a senior or chief/lead engineering role, including project leadership
- Deep expertise in analog and digital circuit design, high-speed design, power management, and embedded systems.
- Experience with design tools such as schematics and layout tools, understanding of simulations tools in RF and Signal/Power integrity analysis.
- Prototyping and Validation: Hands-on experience with building and validating prototypes, using lab equipment like oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Product Development Lifecycle: Thorough understanding of the product development process, from early concept through mass production.
- Problem Solving: Strong technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead engineering teams and deliver complex, multi-disciplinary projects
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively across internal teams and external partners.
