The Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the production facility and equipment to ensure a safe, sanitary, and compliant environment. This includes cleaning, sanitizing, and disassembling and reassembling machinery to prevent cross-contamination and meet quality control standards. This position involves executing a range of sanitation and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for all employees. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness.

 

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines while performing sanitation duties.
  • Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with colleagues and visitors.
  • Contribute to the overall safety, cleanliness, and positive image of the plant through dedicated custodial efforts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and facility management to ensure a cohesive and efficient approach to sanitation responsibilities. 
  • Routine cleaning of specified areas encompassing manufacturing floor and its equipment.
  • Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment including, but not limited to, mops, chemical dispensers/containers, and janitorial carts.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies to ensure availability for daily tasks.
  • Complete daily checklist and other paperwork as required.
  • Assist with waste disposal as necessary.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, or potential improvements to the appropriate personnel.
  • Participate in periodic deep-cleaning projects and special assignments as directed by supervisory staff.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in sanitation or in a similar role.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to address cleanliness needs.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Must be able to handle different ingredients such as allergens (peanuts) and different proteins including pork products.

Compensation: Starting at $18.25 per hour, depending on experience and credentials.
