We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Instrumentation / Electrician Technician within our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada.

Requirements

  • Education: Successful completion of a Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) Instrumentation Technician and/or Electrician. Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations. Knowledge of and ability to operate basic computer software applications as well as outlook and to conduct research using the internet. Must have a strong working knowledge and experience in the repair and maintenance of various types of electrical equipment. Strong working knowledge of Predictive and Preventative maintenance practices. Diagnostic and problem-solving skills related to technical issues. Must be able to read process flow diagrams, P&IDs, electrical drawings and follow specifications. Valid driver’s license required.
  • Experience: Successful completion for the Instrumentation or Electrician Apprenticeship program and have acquired relevant hands-on related work experience. Developed interpersonal / communication and ability to work cooperatively and respectfully within a team. Ability to deal with other staff / contractors with tact, diplomacy and courtesy. Must have relevant plant experience and be familiar with plant operations, chemical processing equipment, procedures and related systems. Ability to accurately use diagnostic tools. Required to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed to maintain a 24/7 operating plant.
  • Physical requirements – Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position including climbing ladders and stairs, walking, bending, stooping etc. Must have good manual dexterity and experience using industrial hand tools and power tools. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms. Must be able to work in confined spaces, work at heights and work from platforms.
