As a Planner, you will play a key role in maximising department performance through effective merchandise planning, in-season trading, and stock optimisation. Working closely with Buying, Design, and Production, you will develop strategic range frameworks, manage financial targets, and ensure that every product is in the right place at the right time.

You’ll use data-driven insights to manage sales forecasts, optimise inventory levels, and drive margin performance — ensuring Forever New remains one step ahead of customer demand and market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic merchandise and range plans aligned with business goals
  • Manage open-to-buy, sales, and margin performance to maximise profitability
  • Partner with Buyers to review range architecture, product mix, and pricing strategies
  • Optimise stock flow across stores and channels, ensuring the right stock, right time philosophy
  • Lead and mentor an Assistant Planner/Allocation Analyst, fostering team growth and performance
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform planning decisions
  • Support key trading events and seasonal initiatives across the business

Requirements

  • 2–3 years’ retail planning or merchandise experience, ideally in fashion or apparel
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with a passion for trading and analysis
  • Advanced Excel and systems literacy (WSSI experience highly regarded)
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A collaborator and problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment
