A key role supporting business and compliance matters

Nokian Tyres is now looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal & Compliance team in Helsinki. As a Legal Counsel, you will play a central role in supporting Nokian Tyres’ business across a broad range of legal areas and provide hands-on legal support to the business. In this position, you will provide day-to-day legal advice to internal stakeholders in Finland and internationally, working fluently in English and Finnish.

The role has a strong focus on contract law and commercial legal support, combining legal work related to procurement, R&D, IT, sales and compliance.

In addition, the role includes participation in corporate governance and administration matters, support in dispute-related and pre-litigation situations, and collaboration with external legal service providers. You will also contribute to the development of internal legal processes, tools and ways of working, as well as support the organization through training and guidance on legal topics. Over time, the scope of the role can evolve, allowing you to deepen your expertise or expand into new areas based on business needs and your own professional interests.

At the Helsinki office, you will work closely with your team, which includes the General Counsel, who will also be your direct manager, as well as a Paralegal. The preferred start date for the role is September 2026. We work in a hybrid model, with three freely chosen days per week at the office and the remaining time remotely. The position does not, as a rule, require travel.

What do we expect from you? 

We are looking for a legal professional with 3–5 years of relevant experience who is comfortable working independently and handling multiple matters in parallel. You have strong contract law expertise and a pragmatic, business-oriented approach to supporting the organization with clear and solution-driven legal advice. Strong collaboration, negotiation and self-management skills are essential in this role.

To succeed in this role, you are likely to have:

A Master’s degree in Law
Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience from an in-house role and/or a law firm
Strong contract law expertise and solid commercial understanding
Experience or interest in R&D, IPR, IT or procurement-related legal matters
A pragmatic, business-oriented and solution-driven mindset
Strong negotiation and self-management skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders
Fluency in English and Finnish, both written and spoken
