About the Role
~1 min readThe QA Automation Manager owns software quality outcomes across PartsSource’s critical product portfolio, including our Salesforce platform. This is a senior people-management role that combines deep technical expertise in automation architecture with proven team-building experience and a track record of leading organizations from manual testing to automation-first practices.
You will directly manage and grow a team of automation engineers, lead offshore automation resources across time zones, and partner closely with Engineering, Product, and DevOps to embed quality at every stage of the delivery lifecycle. This is the most consequential quality role in the organization — we’re looking for a proven change agent who has done this before and is ready to do it again.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Directly manage, hire, develop, and retain a team of automation engineers; own performance reviews, coaching, and career development within the QA function.
- Lead and coordinate offshore automation teams across multiple time zones, maintaining delivery accountability and team cohesion.
- Set clear performance expectations, build a culture of quality ownership, and develop automation engineers in best practices and technical rigor.
- Define and execute the strategy and roadmap for transitioning QA operations from predominantly manual testing to a mature, automation-first practice.
- Establish the frameworks, upskilling plans, and success metrics to drive and sustain 100% automation coverage across the product lifecycle.
- Serve as the organizational change agent for quality — influencing engineering and product culture, not just technical tooling.
- Design and validate scalable, maintainable test automation architectures using Playwright and/or Selenium; own framework decisions from design through production.
- Lead automation coverage across web, API (REST/GraphQL), mobile (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest), and Salesforce platforms — including Lightning UI, custom components, flows, and Salesforce APIs.
- Integrate automation pipelines with CI/CD tooling and cloud-based testing platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or equivalent) for consistent, scalable execution.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent) to accelerate test code generation and improve automation ROI.
- Manage delivery timelines and communicate program health, risks, and quality metrics to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
- Establish and enforce test management practices using enterprise tools (TestRail, Xray for Jira, PractiTest, or equivalent); validate artifact quality before every deployment.
- Own test infrastructure provisioning within containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes); troubleshoot complex test failures and performance issues across distributed platforms.
- Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, execution speed, and automation ROI; report progress against transformation goals to engineering and product leadership.
- 5+ years of direct people-management experience, including hiring, performance reviews, coaching, and career development of QA and automation engineers.
- Demonstrated track record of leading a manual-to-automation transformation — defining the strategy, roadmap, frameworks, upskilling plan, and metrics to get there.
- Expert-level proficiency with Playwright and/or Selenium (5+ years); proven ability to architect and scale production-grade automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience automating Salesforce applications — including Lightning UI, custom components, flows, and Salesforce APIs — using tools such as Provar, Copado, Selenium, or Playwright.
- Expertise in API testing (REST/GraphQL) and mobile automation (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest) across multiple platforms and device configurations.
- Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution and reporting at scale; familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized test environments.
- Demonstrated use of AI-assisted tools to accelerate test development and improve team productivity.
- Strong communication skills — comfortable presenting to technical, business, and C-level audiences.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience with load and performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, Gatling, LoadRunner, or equivalent).
- Background in Agile/Scrum environments and sprint-level QA planning.
- Advanced knowledge of test data management strategies.
- You take full accountability for quality outcomes — not just test execution. You own the team, the transformation roadmap, and the standard of work that ships. Accountability & Execution, Results Driven
- You understand that quality infrastructure directly protects patient care. You bring urgency and rigor to your work because the downstream stakes are real. Clear & Critical Thinking, Relationship Management
- You’ve led teams through significant change before and know how to bring people along. You stay current on tooling and patterns — and you translate what you learn into team capability. Learning Agility, Resilience
- You build trust across Engineering, Product, and DevOps through clear communication and consistent follow-through. You manage distributed teams with structure, clarity, and care. Team Orientation, Alignment & Cohesion
- You question manual processes, surface inefficiencies, and drive adoption of better patterns. You back improvement proposals with data and a concrete implementation plan. Curiosity & Problem Solving, Continuous Improvement
