What you will be doing: Define and execute the overall data strategy, leveraging Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub. Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and robust data pipelines and data warehouse solutions on GCP. Manage and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, quality, security, and compliance within the GCP environment. Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements. Evaluate and recommend new GCP data technologies and tools to optimize performance and efficiency. Oversee the deployment of machine learning and analytical models built on GCP's AI Platform. What our client is looking for: A relevant tertiary qualification would be beneficial (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification. 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a related field. 2+ years of experience specifically with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services. Extensive experience with BigQuery, including complex query optimization and performance tuning. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines on GCP. Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau). Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
