What you will be doing: Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, proactively aligning HR strategy with business goals, and acting as a key partner in organizational and process change. Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations (including disciplinary and grievance procedures), manage legal risks, ensure strict compliance with South African labour law, and manage dispute resolution. Audit, evaluate, and enhance HR policies and systems, oversee day-to-day HR operations, maintain governance standards, ensure consistency in process execution, and utilize HR technology. Own the end-to-end recruitment process for the entity, ensuring timely, quality hires, and leading successful integration through the onboarding process. Partner on learning and development programs, drive engagement and wellbeing initiatives, implement strategies to retain top talent, coach managers on performance, and lead initiatives to build a positive, high-performing culture. Liaise with HRBPs across the Group, share best practices, support knowledge sharing, and contribute to/lead Group-wide strategic HR initiatives. Utilize HR metrics and analytics to measure initiative effectiveness and provide data-driven insights and practical recommendations to management. Maintain an open, supportive HR presence, and manage all employee exit processes professionally and compliantly. What our client is looking for: A relevant tertiary degree (Psychology, Human Resource Management, etc.) 7-10 years of progressive HR experience (Generalist/Business Partner), managing the full employee lifecycle in a complex, high-velocity environment. Deep expertise in South African employment law is mandatory. Must possess proven analytical skills to interpret HR data, translating insights into actionable business recommendations, balancing strategic oversight with strong operational execution. Demonstrates professional maturity, sound judgment, pragmatic, solution-focused thinking, strong organizational skills, and efficiency in planning and prioritising work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, with the ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and maturely to influence and build trust across all levels, including advising executives and senior leadership. High emotional intelligence, empathy, and interpersonal maturity are required. Must be a collaborative team player skilled at managing conflict constructively and balancing empathy with accountability. Must be resilient, composed, adaptable, proactive in responding to change, and committed to continuous learning while consistently delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
