We need a Director of Facilities to lead the strategy, operations, and optimization of Pattern’s physical workplace environment at our offices. This role ensures our offices are safe, efficient, scalable, and aligned with employee experience goals while supporting rapid company growth. This is a full-time role and will work a hybrid schedule based in Lehi, Utah.
Oversee daily facilities operations including maintenance, security, janitorial, and vendor management in partnership with lease management team
Develop and execute facilities strategy aligned with company growth, including space planning and workplace design
Manage budgets, capital expenditures, and cost optimization initiatives across facilities
Lead office expansions, renovations, and build-outs in partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards
Partner cross-functionally with IT, People Ops, and leadership to enhance employee workplace experience
International experience in facilities management, workplace operations, or a related field
Proven experience managing small and large office environments, preferably in a high-growth or tech company
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and vendor management
Experience managing leases, budgets, contracts, and capital projects
High EQ and excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive, data-driven approach to decision making
Facilities operations run smoothly with minimal disruptions and high employee satisfaction
Projects (build-outs, expansions, upgrades) are delivered on time and within budget
Strong vendor relationships that drive quality service and cost efficiency
Continuous improvement in workplace experience, safety, and operational efficiency
Proactive identification and resolution of facility risks or inefficiencies
This role offers significant opportunity to expand both scope and impact as Pattern continues to grow. The Director of Facilities will play a key role in shaping the long-term workplace strategy, with the potential to further scale facilities operations across multiple locations globally. This position provides regular exposure to executive leadership and involvement in strategic decision-making related to real estate, workplace experience, and operational efficiency.
In the first 30 days, you will focus on gaining a deep understanding of Pattern’s current facilities operations, including existing vendors, budgets, maintenance processes, and any ongoing projects or build-outs. You will build relationships with key stakeholders across IT, People, and leadership, while assessing current strengths, gaps, and risks within the facilities function.
By 60 days, you will begin identifying and implementing quick wins that improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the employee workplace experience. You will evaluate vendor performance, optimize service agreements where needed, and begin introducing more structured processes and reporting to improve visibility and accountability.
By 90 days, you will establish a clear and forward-looking facilities strategy aligned with Pattern’s growth goals. This includes defining a roadmap for workplace improvements, scalability, and long-term investments, while demonstrating measurable improvements in operations, employee satisfaction, and overall facility performance.
You will work cross-functionally with many different teams in the company (including IT, People Ops, and Finance), and be supervised by Pattern’s VP of Finance. This team is data driven and results oriented. You will collaborate regularly with members of your team to implement actionable solutions. Ideas and input are encouraged from all members.
