This role

We are looking for a Collections Analytics & Strategy Manager to define the strategic direction of the Global Collections team and close the loop between decision and outcome. This role requires a strong quantitative foundation — the ideal candidate has hands-on experience with statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design, and applies these skills to drive business decisions rather than just produce reports. The role is responsible for setting the collections strategy, designing and running A/B tests, measuring the impact of initiatives, and deciding — based on data — what scales and what stops. It also owns agency ROI monitoring with full segregation from operations, and leads benchmarking across markets. This is the analytical brain of the collections team: a function that did not previously exist and is being created to professionalize how the area grows, optimizes, and deploys resources. Our primary tools include Hex, SQL, and Python.

Strategy & Planning

  • Define the global collections strategy in partnership with the Senior Manager, setting priorities, recovery targets, and market-level initiatives.

  • Translate business goals into actionable collection strategies for each market (LatAm, ZA, PH).

  • Build and maintain the global collections playbook, ensuring consistency and best practices across regions.

  • Identify expansion opportunities and support new market readiness from a collections strategy standpoint.

  • A/B Testing & Experimentation

    • Design, launch, and manage A/B tests and controlled experiments across collection channels, messaging, and treatment strategies.

    • Define hypotheses, success metrics, and minimum detectable effects for each experiment.

    • Analyze test results and make data-backed recommendations on whether to roll out, iterate, or discontinue an initiative.

    • Build an experimentation culture across the collections team, documenting learnings and sharing findings broadly.

    • Impact Measurement & Decision Support

      • Own the end-to-end measurement framework for collections initiatives — from baseline to post-launch impact.

      • Develop and maintain KPIs, recovery rate tracking, and portfolio health indicators across all markets.

      • Deliver regular performance insights to collections leadership with clear, actionable recommendations.

      • Support Senior Manager with analytical input for strategic decisions, headcount planning, and budget discussions.

      • Agency ROI & Benchmarking

        • Monitor and evaluate the ROI of external collection agencies — fully separated from the operations function to ensure objectivity.

        • Identify underperforming agency contracts and recommend revisions, renegotiations, or terminations based on data.

        • Benchmark collection performance across markets, identifying gaps and best practices to replicate.

        • Build and maintain agency scorecards that combine performance, cost, compliance, and risk metrics.

        • Segmentation & Analytics

          • Conduct in-depth portfolio segmentation analysis to identify recovery patterns, risk profiles, and treatment opportunities.

          • Support the development of collection score, propensity models and contact prioritization logic in collaboration with the Risk and Data Science teams.

          • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, business-friendly recommendations for operations teams.

          • Partner with risk, product, and data teams to align collections analytics with broader company data strategy.

          • Cross-functional Collaboration

            • Work closely with collections operations and tools teams to ensure strategy is grounded in operational reality.

            • Communicate strategy and results to senior stakeholders in executive-ready formats.

            • Partner with finance, risk, and product to ensure collections strategy aligns with company-wide goals.

            • Collaborate across departments to ensure data consistency and shared understanding of performance

Technical Skills & Tools

  • Mandatory: SQL (advanced), Python, Hex (or equivalent BI/notebook tools).

  • Mandatory: solid foundation in statistics and quantitative methods — hypothesis testing, regression analysis, confidence intervals, and experimental design applied to business problems.

  • Mandatory: hands-on experience with A/B testing methodologies, experimentation frameworks, and interpreting statistical significance in a business context.

  • Experience with predictive modeling or propensity scoring techniques (logistic regression, decision trees, or equivalent).

  • Proficiency in translating data and statistical findings into strategic narratives and executive-level recommendations.

  • Familiarity with API integrations and connecting to external data sources.

  • Desirable but Not Essential

    • Knowledge of collections, credit risk, or lending operations.

    • Experience with agency management, vendor scorecards, or procurement analytics.

    • Familiarity with machine learning or statistical modeling for propensity scoring.

    • Experience in Fintech, financial services, or similarly data-driven industries.

    • Specific Knowledge

      • Experience in Data Science, Strategy, Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Collections Operations roles.

      • Strong understanding of portfolio management, delinquency tracking, and recovery strategies.

      • Ability to independently scope, execute, and communicate strategic projects with minimal supervision.

      • Expected Results from This Role

        • A clearly defined and data-backed global collections strategy, updated quarterly.

        • Faster, better-informed rollout decisions driven by a structured experimentation framework.

        • Measurable improvement in agency ROI through active, objective performance monitoring.

        • Cross-market benchmarking that surfaces best practices and accelerates performance improvement.

        • A collections team that operates with analytical discipline — measuring what matters and acting on evidence.

        • Soft Skills

          • Strategic thinker with strong analytical foundations — comfortable moving between high-level vision and detailed data.

          • Excellent communication skills — able to present complex findings to both technical and executive audiences.

          • Strong ownership mentality — proactive in identifying problems and proposing solutions without being asked.

          • Collaborative but opinionated — brings a point of view and defends it with data.

  • 100% Company-funded Health and dental and vision discount plan for employees and immediate family members.
  • Life insurance.
  • Phone finance, Headphone, home office equipment and wellness perks.
  • 30 days of Christmas bonus.
  • 20 days paid Vacation.
  • 50% Vacation premium.
  • 13% Saving funds.
  • $2,000 MXN monthly grocery coupons.
  • $2,000 USD annual Co-working Travel perk.
  • $2,000 USD annual Professional Development perk.
