As we expand our data-driven capabilities, we seek a skilled Data Product Manager to oversee our data ingestion and analytics products, ensuring smooth data handling and compliance across the organization.
Role Summary:
As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of Paytm's data ingestion and analytics products. This role requires a strategic mindset and hands-on experience in managing data pipelines, analytics, and compliance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, compliance, and business stakeholders, to ensure that our data products are efficient, compliant, and meet evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
● Data Product Ownership: Manage the lifecycle of data ingestion and analytics products, with a focus on optimizing data workflows and supporting business objectives.
● Product Management Practice: Drive and uphold product management best
practices, including defining, refining, and prioritizing the product backlog. Foster a culture of transparency and alignment through consistent processes.
● Compliance Management: Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that all
data products comply with relevant legal and organizational requirements.
Ensure data handling practices adhere to regulatory standards.
● Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, business, and
compliance teams to define, document, and prioritize product requirements.
Maintain clear communication on deliverables and timelines.
● Reporting Tool Knowledge: Leverage experience with reporting and
visualization tools, preferably Looker or Superset, to understand and address
analytics user needs. Act as the main contact for troubleshooting, optimization, and coordinating with vendors and stakeholders for infrastructure enhancements and issue resolution.
● Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and manage the roadmap for data
ingestion and analytics products, aligned with business goals and evolving
regulatory requirements.
● Performance Optimization: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure
data quality, system reliability, and product efficiency, while making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
● User-Centric Solutions: Prioritize features and improvements that enhance user experience, drive operational efficiency, and provide actionable insights for stakeholders.
Qualifications:
● Experience: 4-6 years in product management, with at least 3 years focused on data or analytics products.
● Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of data ingestion, data quality, and data analytics. Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data
governance frameworks is a plus.
● Compliance Knowledge: Proven experience working on data compliance,
including GDPR, DPDP, data privacy, and internal data handling protocols.
● Analytical Skills: Proficient in analytics and data visualization tools. Ability to interpret data trends and make data-driven product decisions.
● Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
Preferred Skills:
● Project Management: Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience in
using product management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, etc.
● Industry Knowledge: Experience in the payments industry or fintech is a plus.
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field; MBA or
equivalent is a plus.
