Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Progress Developer to design, develop, and maintain applications using Progress 4GL / OpenEdge. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with Progress-based systems, possess strong analytical skills, and be capable of working independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy business applications using Progress 4GL / OpenEdge.
• Maintain and enhance existing Progress-based applications and integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business analysts, testers, and other developers) to gather and understand requirements.
• Write efficient and maintainable code following best practices and development standards.
• Perform unit and integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and system issues in a timely manner.
• Assist in the modernisation and migration of legacy Progress applications to modern architectures or platforms if needed.
• Document technical specifications, application logic, and support guides.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance of deployed solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience with Progress 4GL / OpenEdge development.
• Experience with Progress database management and tuning.
• Familiarity with Progress AppServer, WebSpeed, or PASOE is a plus.
• Solid understanding of database structures, data modeling, and SQL.
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, XML, JSON, and other integration technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to manage tasks and timelines independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems or enterprise-level Progress applications.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Agile or Scrum development experience.
