Te whiwhinga mahi: The opportunity 

We have an exciting opportunity for a new permanent Brief Intervention Clinician. We are seeking a vibrant, highly motivated health professional to join the Primary Mental Health Team (Waikato), to deliver equity health and wellbeing outcomes which is at the heart of what we do.

 

Reporting to the Clinical Services Lead – Primary Mental Health (Waikato), you will coordinate and deliver therapy groups for mild to moderate mental health presentations. You will support clients and their whanau to use practical tools that support their ongoing mental wellbeing beyond their brief intervention within the service.

 

You will have excellent interpersonal, skills, problem-solving abilities and the ability to challenge, inspire, influence, enable and encourage others. Whilst experience is preferred, we are open to considering new practising clinicians.

 

This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you 

  • A registered health professional with a current practising certificate OR a registered Social Worker with a current practicing certificate,
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience in community mental health service delivery.
  • Have experience facilitating mild to moderate therapy groups within the mental health setting.
  • Have experience in assessment, documentation and collecting comprehensive data from all relevant sources.
  • Have a working knowledge of the clinical assessment tools used to assess and measure mild to moderate mental distress.
  • Additional education or experience in mental health service delivery would be an advantage.
  • Have a full and current driver licence.
