We are seeking a dynamic Nurse Lead to join the team full-time at our NorthCare Medical Centres, where delivering whānau-centred care is at the heart of what we do. This role provides leadership across our three NorthCare sites and offers a balance of clinical practice and leadership responsibilities, working closely with the Regional Business Manager, Practice Manager, GPs, and wider teams.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse who has demonstrated strong leadership capability and is looking to further grow and refine their leadership skills within a supportive, well-established primary care environment.
We are seeking someone who is motivated to continue developing their people leadership capability, has an understanding of how general practice operates as a business, and is committed to growing as a clinical leader.
This role is pivotal in supporting our nursing team to work confidently and effectively, strengthening systems and processes, and contributing to a positive, high-performing team environment.

You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate, bringing demonstrated leadership capability and a strong commitment to improving community health outcomes.
This role is well suited to someone who sees leadership as a key part of their long-term career pathway and is motivated to continue growing in this space.
You will:
- Be a Registered Nurse with a current APC
- Show confidence in leading, coaching, and developing others to perform at their best
- Understand how general practice operates, including sustainability and efficient service delivery
- Be confident contributing to clinical governance, quality improvement, and service development
- Be an independent vaccinator and cervical smear taker (desirable but not essential)
- Ideally hold a postgraduate qualification in nursing (or be working towards one)
- Understand, or be open to strengthening your understanding of, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Ao Māori, equity, and cultural competency
- Be adaptable, approachable, and comfortable working in a busy, team-based environment
- Have strong communication, organisational, and time management skills
- Contribute to workforce planning, resource allocation, and service sustainability across sites
- Be confident using PMS systems and MS Office

We serve a diverse population of approximately 18,000 patients across our three sites. Our experienced multidisciplinary teams work closely together to provide coordinated care. We place strong value on building meaningful relationships with our patients and each other. We have a strong focus on equity and improving health outcomes for our communities, particularly Māori and Pasifika.
NorthCare Medical Centres are owned and operated by Primary Health Care Limited (PHCL), a not-for-profit organisation supporting nine rural and urban general practices across the Waikato and Taranaki.
