Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role supports the Product Development work at Next Hydrogen's main facility in Mississauga, ON by assisting with the setting up, monitoring and reporting on various lab, bench, pilot and factory scale testing of our industrial-sized hydrogen electrolyzers and balance of plant equipment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble test electrolyser modules for product development testing, perform pre-operation tests and measurements, and install electrolyser modules in test stands
  • Commission and operate according to pre-determined test protocols
  • Continuously monitor and regularly report data and trends in the form of test reports and presentations
  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner, carefully following all safety and process procedures
  • Physical work is involved with the test bay install, set up, start up, shut down, and removal of the industrial scale cell stack and electrolyser equipment.


Qualifications:

  • University College Diploma in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or other related disciplines.
  • 2+ years of experience in an industry setting (e.g. manufacturing, industrial equipment set-up/installation)
  • Knowledge and experience with electrochemical systems such as electrolysers, fuel cells, or batteries and hydrogen would be an asset
  • Preference will also be given to those who can work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights and weekends
