Essential Attributes:
- The Mission of the Clerk of Courts has a high degree of public accountability, regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
- Support and comply with the Mission Statement and Code of Conduct of the Clerk of Courts.
- Maintain a high standard relating to professional conduct and behavior.
- Work cooperatively with other employees of the work unit and embrace a teamwork approach to completing tasks.
Infrastructure & Systems
- Provide technical expertise in analysis, configuration, implementation, and ongoing support for all desktop hardware, software systems, printers, and workstation applications.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all Clerk’s Office hardware and software assets.
- Collaborate with IT staff to ensure the desktop environment is consistent with organizational objectives, application compatibility, and security requirements.
- Utilize centralized management tools for automated software deployment, patch management, and OS provisioning.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of disaster recovery procedures for desktop resources.
- Ensure all workstation configurations adhere to established security and regulatory requirements.
- Follow procedures for reporting and ensuring a timely response to network and personal computer operational problems.
- Coordinate and oversee repair needs to ensure problems are corrected via internal staff, County IT support, or external vendors.
- Serve as backup for the Help Desk to field calls, emails, and assign or resolve service tickets.
- Evaluate individual user needs and suitability for personal computer applications, reporting findings to management in a cohesive manner.
- Provide individual or group training to PC users regarding hardware and software applications.
- Perform basic administration in Active Directory and Entra ID, including user account creation and password/MFA resets.
- Provide high-level technical assistance via remote control tools to users at satellite locations.
- Support and maintain audio-visual equipment and unified communication platforms for office-wide use.
- Maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information obtained through the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned; some overtime may be required.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- A+ certification or similar strongly preferred.
- Ability to research and understand Florida statutes, County/Clerk policies, and technical manuals to ensure compliance in information system implementation and accountability.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions and research resource materials for problem resolution.
- Thorough knowledge of standard Personal Computer and network equipment, including hardware, software (MS Windows/Office), and peripherals.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts including basic algebra, geometry, and binary systems to calculate proportions, percentages, and volumes.
- Applicant must have the physical, developmental, and mental ability to perform job tasks and responsibilities, with reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write professional correspondence and speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with people from varied backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain strict attention to detail and remain calm in an anxious, intense environment.
- Bilingual skills are encouraged.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work (including multiple tasks and changing priorities) to meet critical deadlines, workload, and necessary time requirements.
- Ability to make quick, objective decisions.
- Ability to remain flexible as conditions change and continue effective performance in the face of additional challenges.
- Ability to cover the work of other employees to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to drive to outside locations.
