Automotive Parts Specialist

The Service Parts Procurement Specialist is extremely knowledgeable about automotive parts and accessories and can accurately answer Service Technician questions and satisfy dealership demands. He/she locates automotive parts from a variety of source options (such as the internet, vendors, other dealerships, etc.) and arranges delivery. Candidates must have a pleasant and courteous personality, strong customer service and organizational skills, strong phone and computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The position reports to the Dealership Manager with a dotted line report to the Service/Shop Manager.

• →Finds and procures parts as requested by the Service Technicians for vehicle repairs.
• →Reviews and compares various parts sources for optimal pricing
• →Ensures parts warranty is available (when appropriate) and tracked for claims filings.
• →Files claims for procured parts under warranty with the providing vendor.
• →Evaluates new versus rebuilt/salvage parts costs and/or OEM versus aftermarket options and makes recommendations to the service manager as appropriate.
• →Tracks all parts orders to ensure timely delivery or re-ordering as required.
• →Organization and reconciliation of parts and parts orders ongoing.
• →Other duties as assigned by dealership management as required.

• Excellent organizational skills
• Experience with and knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
• Previous experience working for a parts provider/supplier (e.g. AutoZone, Pepboys, NAPA, etc.) or an automobile dealership service department parts counter.

• Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 35 lbs.
